A slang expression for a morbidly obese person. The 'boom boom' section of the term originated from describing the way a fat person's belly, arm, or leg fat bounces when they are moving.
Patois: Mi did go try mi luck a di beach but a only fatty boom boom mi si
English: I was going to try my luck at the beach, but I only saw fat people.
Slang expression used to refer to anything that has undesirable characteristics (filthy, tacky, flimsy etc…).
Patois: Yu expect mi fi nyam dat fluxy apple?
English: Do you expect me to eat that filthy apple?
Unnaturally mature
Expression used to describe young girls, normally in their early or mid-teens; who dress, act or present themselves to look older than they actually are. They’re normally involved in adult activities such as sex, alcohol consumption, smoking and attending adult parties.
Patois: Dem likkle girl deh a just 14, dem force ripe
English: Those little girls there are just 14, they are unnaturally mature
Easily Afraid
Expression used to describe someone who gets afraid easily or acts cowardly. This term is a repetition of the patois term “fraid” which means afraid.
Patois: Him too fraidy fraidy fi sleep inna di dawk
English: He is too afraid to sleep in the dark
