Originally tied to street credibility and sometimes associated with gang culture or violence, the term has evolved and can also describe someone who’s just confident, respected, and carries a certain swagger. It's often used in dancehall music to portray a no-nonsense persona and depending on the tone, it can be taken seriously or used playfully to hype someone up.
