Nobody
Patois: Nobadi neva deh a yawd.
English: Nobody was home.
Each other
Patois: Dem love each ada.
English: They love each other.
One another
Patois: Wi fi help one aneda.

My
"Mi" is one of the most versatile and commonly used words in Jamaican Patois. It functions as the first-person singular pronoun, meaning it can translate to “I,” “me,” or “my” in Standard English, depending on how it’s used in a sentence. Unlike English, which uses separate words (I for subject, me for object, and my for possessive), Patois simplifies all of these into one word: "mi."
Patois: Mi luv di colah blue.
English: I love the color blue
Your
Patois: Yu hair look gud.
English: Your hair looks great.
